BOOST Growth Opportunities (GO) Case Manager
Program Information
BOOST GO is a program funded 100% with a U.S. Department of Labor Employment & Training Administration Reentry Employment Opportunities grant. The program prevents recidivism of justice-involved young adults, aged 18-24, by preparing them for and placing them in successful careers.
Position Summary
This full-time (1.0 FTE) position will support, guide, and mentor program participants to successfully remove barriers to success and train for and obtain a career: coordinating participant services, assisting participants in progressing toward their career goals and in connecting with possible employers and follow-up with participants after they exit the program.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan with the Program Director and Lead Case Manager for optimal program success, including submission of quarterly program reports
- Provide intensive, face-to-face case management to enrolled participants
- Assist participants in setting realistic and achievable goals through an Individual Career Plan (ICP)
- Refer participants to community providers for needs not provided by the program
- Perform career exploration and referral to job training partners for employment-related services
- Assist participants in selecting vocational training, meeting admission requirements and facilitating enrollment into the training
- Assist participants with accessing transportation, appropriate clothing, classroom equipment or materials, training materials and childcare
- Train in the Workforce Integrated Performance System (WIPS), the data collections system, and regularly input case notes and data into the system
- Serve as liaison between participants and employers, particularly in the weeks following placement – continuing to check in with employers and participants to address any issues
- Provide resume-building and interviewing support to participants
- Maintain knowledge of current local workforce needs
- Attend weekly staff meetings and all sponsored events, community presentations, celebrations and other program or organization-wide activities
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with program partners
- Participate in ongoing training and webinars from the U.S. Department of Labor
- Maintain contact with participants after they exit program and enter the follow-up period
- Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
- BA or BS degree in social work, education or closely related discipline preferred, or the equivalence of years in case management
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience in case management
- Experience working with justice-involved young adults

- Self-motivated to take responsibility for the success of the program
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities with limited supervision and/or structured guidance
- Ability to build collaboration
- Computer skills
- Good advocacy skills
- Ability to form relationships and build partnerships with businesses and stakeholders
- Ability to travel throughout the service area (Woodbury County) as necessary, to monitor and assess program, young adults and program partners (must have a clean driving record)
